This week’s episode features Braxton Hicks, one of the first employees at Horizon Firearms, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife R3 Coordinator for Hunting and Shooting Sports.

Braxton tells us all about his journey after Horizon and how he got into the Texas Wildlife Association. He goes into detail on the youth hunts he leads, how current youth can apply today, and the secrets to getting chosen.

Braxton is an avid Texas elk hunter, and he gives us insight to what a “typical” Texas elk hunt looks like when he is battling the heat and environment. He tells us a story about one of his favorite elk hunts where he leads a 13 year-old girl to securing an elk.

Braxton chats with Derrick about his new job as the R3 Coordinator and what that job entails. He talks about how conservation efforts are being hindered due to a decrease in citizens buying licenses and ammunition.
